Orgiva is a bustling Spanish market town with plenty of restaurants, tapas bars and a weekly market.
There are supermarkets, banks and interesting artisan shops, chemists, hospital and police station.
Easily reached on foot, approx. 20 minutes walk, or just 5 minutes by car.



Changeover days are any day of the week,
this helps you to find cheaper flights.
Clients arriving can access the cortijo at 14.00pm. Clients leaving must vacate by 10.00am.



The nearest beach is at Motril, approximately 30 minutes drive. Look out also for beautiful secluded beaches between Salobreņa and Nerja. The Sierra Nevada and ski resort is less than l hours easy car drive with wonderful walks, forests and wildlife.



Recommended day trips: The Alhambra Palace and Gardens in Granada, The Alpujarran mountain villages of Bubion, Capeileira and Pampaneira, the Waterpark at Almuņecar, the Balcon de Europa and the beautiful Burriana beach at Nerja, with restaurants serving paella, also the stunning Nerja caves. Horse trekking through the mountains and mountain bike hire available in Orgiva. There are maps and further information in the house for visitors use.



Weather and the seasons: January and February are warm during the day and very suitable for walkers, a log fire may be necessary in the evenings, the oranges and lemons are ready at this time, particularly pretty. Easter time there are many glorious spring flowers and the valley is very green, the weather is warm to hot, marvellous for walking and usually hot enough to swim and sunbathe. Early summer like a really good English summer with many locally grown exotic fruits available. Mid and high summer the weather is very hot, usually reaching 32 - 40 degrees Celcius with hot evenings, perfect for BBQ's not so good for walking. Late September and October, still hot days and warm balmy evenings. November days are warm, at night a wood fire is needed. December is known as the wettest month, but is very mild compared with England.
